The Kids & Teens Tab

The Kids & Teens tab provides links to a variety of electronic resources that are geared toward children and young adults. To view these resources, click the Kids & Teens tab below the library name banner or click the Kids & Teens link in the navigation portlet.

Initially, the main content area of the Kids & Teens tab is pre-populated with a variety of resources similar to the ones shown in the screen shot above. You can edit or delete the information and links that have been provided, as well as add new resources.

In addition to the resources in the main content area and the standard navigation and quotation portlets, the Kids & Teens page also includes the following portlets:

1.       Calendar portlet: Displays a calendar for the current month, with the current date outlined. Dates for which library event announcements exist are highlighted with a differently colored background and bold numbers. Hold your mouse pointer over a highlighted date to see basic event information, or click the date to see more details about all scheduled events for that date.

2.       Upcoming Events portlet: Displays a list of upcoming library events. Click any event in the list for more detailed information about the event. If there are no upcoming library events, this portlet is not visible.

3.       Library catalog portlet (if available for your library): Allows users to search your library catalog and access their personal library accounts.

4.       Children’s books best sellers portlet: Lists the current best-selling children’s books. Click any listed title to view bookseller’s information about the book.

5.       Books for kids and teens portlet: Contains links to several Web sites that provide information about books for kids and teens.
